Heninger Garrison Davis is proud to announce the addition of James A. “Jay” Stewart as a new partner in our Birmingham office. After over 20 years as a practicing attorney, Jay brings to HGD extensive experience in complex civil litigation including commercial litigation, business torts, transportation litigation, construction litigation, as well as expertise in contract law. He plans to focus his practice on the litigation and resolution of complex disputes for clients in a broad array of personal injury claims at HGD.
He is admitted to United States District Court, Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama. He is a member of the Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations, as well as the Alabama Association for Justice.
Prior to joining HGD, Jay most recently worked with the firm Gordon, Dana & Gilmore specializing in commercial litigation and personal injury. Before GDG, he worked with the firm Carr Allison and with the Bruno Event Team as In-house counsel.

Jay is a lifelong resident of Vestavia Hills and currently serves on the Vestavia Hills School Board. A cum laude graduate of Samford University with a degree in Business Administration, he began his career in healthcare with MedPartners and then with Merck Pharmaceuticals. This experience inspired him to pursue his JD/MBA degree at Cumberland School of Law.
Jay and his wife, Brooke, have been married for 26 years. They have three children and their family attends Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.
