Birmingham professionals will sing on behalf of homeless animals at the 10th annual Croonin’ For Critters, Thursday March 23rd, at WorkPlay. Happy hour with Rick Carter in the WorkPlay bar begins at 5:00 p.m. with the show starting at 7:00 p.m. Cover charge is $25.
Proceeds will benefit the 38th annual Do Dah Day, a fundraiser in support of homeless animals, set for May 20th, 2017, in Caldwell and Rhodes Parks on Birmingham’s historic Highland Avenue.
Hosted by Birmingham lawyer, Tommy Spina, Croonin’ For Critters borrows the American Idol format. Contestants will perform a song accompanied by the Robbins-Morton Orchestra followed by performance critiques from celebrity judges, Pam Huff, Bruce Ayers and Ona Watson.
The audience will vote for their favorite singers through $1 donations. Audience members can vote for their favorite singer or singers as many times as they wish. The top vote getter will be named Birmingham’s Critter Idol. A separate award will go to the most talented singer in the competition.
Heninger Garrison Davis is presenting crooner Remy Garrison, who will be singing Into You by American singer-song writer Ariana Grande.
