Erik Heninger was quoted by TimesDaily.com about a federal lawsuit filed on Tuesday against the former children’s minister at Highland Park Baptist Church (Muscle Shoals, AL) who pleaded guilty to molesting a young boy, the church and a not-for-profit foundation that is a part of the church.

In regards to the case, Erik said:

“The message of the case is about protecting our kids,” Heninger said. “There has been a lot of talk about what happened, and it is now time for those responsible to be held accountable.”

The lawsuit charges the sexual abuse would not have occurred if Eddie had not been employed by Highland Park Baptist Church, and that the “church knew or should have known that Eddie posed a serious threat to the minors entrusted in their care.”
