“Dedicated to protecting our 7th Amendment Right”
Two Heninger Garrison Davis (HGD) attorneys are taking on important leadership roles with the Alabama Association for Justice (ALAJ). Having served on the board for three years, Erik Heninger was recently elected by his peers to serve in the role of Treasurer and Legislative Chair for the 2018 regular session. In this role, Erik will work with the other members of ALAJ leadership to monitor and review all new legislation introduced into the state of Alabama to ensure that access to a jury trial is not adversely affected in any way. As he continues to help lead the organization, Erik is committed to taking all measures necessary to protect the 7th amendment.
“We all know our 1st Amendment right to speech and our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, but Alabamians need to remember the 7th Amendment right to a trial by jury is the most precious because it protects all other constitutional rights,” remarked ALAJ Treasurer Erik Heninger as he assumed the role on June 16, 2017. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve in leadership of ALAJ as we serve out our core mission to protect the 7th Amendment right of all Alabamians.”

Brandy Robertson steps into the role of President for the Emerging Leaders Section of ALAJ. Brandy has served as Second Vice Chair, First Vice Chair and Chair Elect of this group for the past three years and has worked with the group to continue the monthly lunch and learn program, plan continuing legal education events such as the Emerging Leaders Lobby Days in Montgomery and helped to promote and increase membership within the group.
“The Emerging Leaders section is a very active group within ALAJ. One of our main purposes is to engage young lawyers to become involved with the Legislative Process in Alabama.” Brandy explained. “This process is not only important to our practice but it is vital to keeping access to jury trials for the citizens of our state.”
ALAJ is a sixty-year old association comprised of more than 800 plaintiffs attorneys focused on making good lawyers and good laws. The group is dedicated to protecting the 7th Amendment to the US Constitution, which guarantees a right to trial by jury and the civil justice system.
