Cirrex’s decorated optical technologies serve communications, instrumentation, and medical applications.

Cirrex’s patent portfolio currently includes 30 issued U.S. patents, 17 pending U.S. patent applications, 3 issued European patents (validated in 12 countries) and encompasses over 1,000 claims. The patent portfolio relates to miniaturized optics technology and emphasizes managing fiber optic light using waveguides and nano-scale and micron-scale structures for beam steering, mode control, and filtering. Cirrex’s patent portfolio growth is fueled through internal R&D efforts (3 patents issued in the first quarter of 2012) and partnering with holders of synergistic patents seeking to realize value from their inventions.

Cirrex has retained internationally recognized intellectual property business advisors, IPinvestments Group, to develop, implement and manage the large scale patent portfolio licensing program. When necessary, Cirrex has turned to the Courts to protect its patents. On May 21, 2012, Cirrex filed patent infringement lawsuits in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia against AngioDynamics, Inc., Polymicro Technologies, LLC, and Ocean Optics, Inc. Veteran patent attorneys at Heninger Garrison & Davis, LLC represent Cirrex in these actions, which cut across medical, fiber optic, and instrumentation industries. Cirrex is also in ongoing patent litigation against other defendants, including Cisco Systems, Inc., JDS Uniphase Corp. and Ciena Corp. and has settled or won additional lawsuits recently.
